Serotonin is a neurotransmitter people assume is only present in the brain and responsible for proper mood function, anxiety prevention, and general feelings of well being! What a lot of people are not aware of is that ninety-five percent of all serotonin production takes place not in the brain but in the gut! In fact Gedgaudas in her book highlights the inextricable link between brain and gut with more neurons present in the gut than the brain by far.
Perhaps you are what you eat after all right?
